Cascade

This piece is based on a photograph taken and given to me by a friend, Ann Bird. I dyed contrasting textures of silks for the flowers and background and linen for the leaves. I wanted to create a feeling of the flowers tumbling in a cascade of light so I added bleach to the background. When completed, I prefered the back of the piece and so it exists as a reversible artwork.
